NO HARD FEELINGS - FEEL IT, FACE IT, THRIVE

Although many individuals recover from psychological distress by engaging solely with self help materials, some experience distress that is more debilitating or prolonged.

We are pleased to offer those with a GP registered in the south of Glasgow the opportunity to refer to our course No Hard Feelings Feel It Face It Thrive. This programme is designed to target symptoms linked to a wide range of mental health problems. It is common to experience different types of anxiety at the same time, for example health anxiety and generalised anxiety. Other conditions that may occur together include panic, social anxiety, OCD, anger and binge eating. This group can be applied across a range of difficulties, which means there is no need to treat each problem in isolation.

LIGHBULB - TRAUMA

The Lightbulb Course is the first intervention offered to people who have experienced a trauma and who continue to have symptoms after this frightening event. These symptoms may include avoidance, nightmares, difficulty concentrating and intrusive thoughts or images.
 

This is an educational group based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy principles and techniques to help reduce symptoms of trauma. The course focuses on the here and now. People attending are encouraged not to talk about or disclose details of their personal trauma, as this may be upsetting for themselves or for others. The weekly sessions alternate between a group session that introduces information and techniques, and a short one to one phone call in the following week to focus on how you are managing to use the skills learned in the course.
