obsessive compulsive disorder

OCD is an Anxiety Disorder where the presence of obsessions and/or compulsions can cause significant distress or disruption to daily living. This is a 16-week programme with 8 virtual group sessions lasting approximately 2 hours, and 8 individual sessions consisting of a 15-minute telephone call to review your understanding and progress. These sessions alternate with a group one week and a call the next.

It uses the Gold standard in treatment of OCD which includes:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). ERP involves confronting obsessive thoughts and preventing compulsive rituals, repeated ERP breaks the link between the thought and the emotion.

Time: Tuesday 1pm-3pm
Duration: 16 weeks

OCI - Obsessive Compulsive Inventory

The Obsessive Compulsive Inventory (OCI) is a 42-item questionnaire comprising of 7 subscales; washing, checking, doubting, ordering, obsessing (i.e. having obsessional thoughts), hoarding, and mental neutralising.

You can fill in the questionnaire online and e-mail yourself or download the results. This is particularly useful information to know as it helps to measure progress and identify what's working and what's not.
