EMOTIONAL COPING
SKILLS

This course is offered to anyone who is struggling with intense emotions such as anxiety, sadness, anger or guilt and, as a result, are struggling to live the life they would like to. Individuals who experience emotional disorders use certain strategies to deal with their symptoms that typically involve avoiding uncomfortable emotions as much as possible. Yet, avoidance maintains these uncomfortable symptoms longer, and often exacerbates them. Often individuals will judge themselves negatively for having emotions or struggling to deal with them.

Our evidence-based 8 week course covers goal setting, education around why we have emotions and how they impact on how we live our lives, mindful emotional awareness, and looking at how we can recognise and make changes to our thoughts, behaviours and the feelings we have in our bodies. The focus is in making changes to help you move forward, with the use of knowledge and practice.

Time: Thursday 1pm-3pm
Duration: 8 weeks
